10 months!!

Alice is 10 months old!!

Alice started her 10 month celebration early by meeting up with mommy's friend Shanna for coffee on Friday. Alice loved Shanna. She usually doesn't let people she doesn't know hold her without a fight. Not only did she let Shanna hold her, but Alice also kept pulling off her socks and trying to stuff them in Shanna's mouth, a sure sign that she likes a person. Of course, mommy forgot her camera, so no pics of this. :(

Saturday we made the trek to Elk River to hang out with Grandma and Auntie Jenessa. Alice started the fun by puking up yogurt and cookies all over her shirt, and for some reason, we didn't have a change of clothes in the diaper bag. (??) So, mommy ran to Target and got her a new shirt and all was good. Alice did a lot of playing and eating and had a lot of fun.

Yesterday also was the first day that Alice did not take a nap at all. I guess maybe she was too excited because of the big day. By the time we got in the car to leave Grandma's there was a lot of crying and screaming because she was so tired. It only lasted about 5 minutes though, and then she was asleep.

Alice is getting pretty mobile. She isn't really crawling, but does this scooting thing that is close to crawling and gets the job done. We will work on getting video of this (and her doing So Big). Now, on to the pics!!

Alice in her adorable baby leggings. They remind mommy of Flashdance. I think daddy thinks they are kind of funny looking.

Peek-a-boo

Alice hanging out with Uncle Shad at Art-a-Whirl last weekend. Alice spent most of the day with Auntie Carrie and was super good all weekend.

Baby Alice is...

SOOOOO BIG!

This is Alice's latest trick. She learned it from her favorite book "So Big," featuring Elmo from Sesame Street. Alice also now knows how to sign "milk" and she understands what the sign for "all gone" means. Yay! Communication!

Quick Pics

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I have been sick for over a week now and can't seem to kick this viral yuck I have.

Daddy reading Alice her favorite book before bed. Daddy, are you sick of reading that one yet?

Alice's new favorite thing is pouring the water out of her sippy cup and playing in it.

Sometimes she just pours the whole thing in her lap.

Alice is really into making funny faces lately. This is one of the best ones she makes. Silly girl

What's Up May?

Crawling? Not yet. Not quite, but close. Alice can push herself backwards just fine. She likes to think she can get up to stand too, but she falls on her head and cries. But, any day now, we'll have a little rugrat crawling all over the place, and that scares the hell out of us.

Also, I've heard some people complain when Alice "types" her picture quotes...as if it's not really her. WELL OF COURSE it's not her. She's 9 months old. I thought I'd entertain you people, but now you've spoiled it. ;)

Alice did write a few things for you all. Enjoy:

And now, the pictures...

We have started an an early age to instill good table manners in our sweet little girl. Nice, huh?

See this? This is a little lady.

ROCKIN' OUT on the big old bass guitar.

Learning to crawl...but only backwards...and in a circle. (I drew in a line to show her path)

She needs a rear-view mirror.

Pushed herself under the futon. Yeah...she meant to do that.

9 month check-up

Alice had her 9 month appointment today. She weighs 16 lbs (tiny girl) and is 26.5 inches long. Her doctor wants to keep an eye on her weight, so we are going back in at 10 months just for a weigh-in.

No shots at this appointment, but she did have to get her finger pricked and squeezed to test her hemoglobin. She hated this a lot.

On to the photos!

Hanging out with daddy

Her adorable head tilt. Notice - still no teeth!

Alice has started getting into a crawling position, but can only go backwards, which usually makes her mad.
